Entry Level Civil/Environmental Engineer or Environmental Compliance Specialist : Mechanicsville, VA

EEE Consulting, Inc. (3e) is currently seeking an entry level engineer with 1-5 years of experience for our Mechanicsville (Richmond), Virginia office. Ideal candidate will display knowledge of stormwater management and erosion and sediment control practices, stormwater BMP design, SWPPP development, MS4 permits and regulations, TMDLs, and environmental regulations and compliance. Must have or obtain Virginia Erosion and Sediment Control and Stormwater Management Plan Reviewer Certifications within one year of employment. Responsibilities will include inspections and reporting, SWPPP development, and coordination with clients. Experience with AutoCAD (particularly Civil 3D), Microstation, and/or GIS applications preferred. Project and personnel management experience a plus. While an engineering background is preferred, candidates with a background in environmental science or related studies and the technical ability to perform the aforementioned tasks will also be considered.

Erosion and Sediment Control Inspector : Mechanicsville, VA

EEE Consulting, Inc. (3e) is currently seeking an entry level engineer or environmental scientist in our Mechanicsville (Richmond), Virginia office to support our growing stormwater and environmental project compliance demands. Ideal candidate will have knowledge of erosion and sediment control and stormwater laws and ordinances, site and roadway construction practices and safety, general knowledge and understanding of the principles, practices, and techniques of civil engineering, and ability to use automated systems and equipment. This position will work directly with the developer, contractor, and/or locality to support compliance activities associated with the Virginia Stormwater Management Program and Construction General Permit. This support includes inspections for field compliance with permits, associated reporting, updating construction documents, and post-construction inspections. As such, candidates should be organized, with excellent communication skills, and good technical writing experience. Experience performing site inspections using a drone a plus.

Erosion and sediment control and potentially stormwater plan review may become additional responsibilities. Responsibilities may also expand to include BMP inspections and/or stormwater outfall evaluations. Travel will be required, usually local and/or within Virginia. Some overtime hours (paid) may be required depending upon workload.

Skills / Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Must have or obtain Certification as Erosion and Sediment Control Inspector within one year of employment, Virginia Stormwater Management Program Inspector within one years of employment.
  • Erosion and Sediment Control Plan Reviewer Certification within two years of employment. Stormwater Plan Reviewer certification may be required within two years.
  • Construction site inspections, ESC/SWM design, and stormwater management related experience required.

Internship : Blacksburg, VA

Internship opportunity available for Summer 2019. Duties include, but not limited to, surface and groundwater sampling, stream assessments, vegetation monitoring, erosion and sediment control inspections, stream restoration and assessment, threatened and endangered species habitat assessments and surveys, and wetland delineations. The internship will require a significant amount of field work and travel, with rigorous physical labor and working long hours in inclement weather. Interested candidates should have a strong interest in wetland and stream ecology and water resources and have a demonstrable GIS skillset. There will be opportunity for rotation through different areas of 3e, including Water Resources Engineering, Natural Resources, and Environmental Assessment and Remediation.
