Example Projects:

Sussex County Closed Landfill, Sussex County, Virginia. Since 1998 EEE has conducted routine detection and assessment monitoring at two closed municipal landfills. Services have included permit application, Groundwater Management Plan Development, groundwater well installation, sample collection, data validation, report development and regulatory management. Other tasks have included development of a Nature and Extent Study, an Assessment of Corrective Measures Study, and land acquisition assistance. Also, landfill gas monitoring system installation, monitoring, and reporting have been performed.

Wheelabrator Corporation Landfill, Bedford, Virginia. Project has been ongoing for three years. Responsible for post-closure management required by the facility’s Hazardous Waste Post-Closure Permit, which was issued in September 1992. The project includes administration and record keeping, updating of the Post-Closure Cost Estimate, NPDES stormwater and Ground-Water Monitoring including sampling, statistical analysis and reporting, and an evaluation of the feasibility of removing or in-situ treatment of the hazardous waste in the landfill. Also prepared the application for renewal of the Hazardous Waste Post Closure Permit.
