Underground and Aboveground Storage Tanks
Example Projects:Virginia Department of Corrections, Term Contract
for Environmental Engineering Services, Statewide. Prepared a UST/AST management plan for regulatory
compliance of over 250 tanks (AST, UST and propane) at 35 facilities. Implemented
first and second phase of compliance including UST and AST registration,
bid packages/specifications for UST closure and AST installation, soil
and groundwater sampling and analysis, multiple Site Characterization Reports
and Corrective Action Plans for leaking underground storage tanks, UST
closure documentation, and negotiation of a Compliance Agreement with the
DEQ. Also provided training on UST/AST compliance and monitoring requirements.
Prepared Spill Control and Countermeasure Plans (SPCC) and Oil Discharge
Contingency plans (ODC) for multiple facilities. Other tasks included preparation
of a NEPA document for a proposed 1500-bed medium security prison, asbestos
and lead paint surveys of two prisons, and wetland/water quality permitting
and Environmental Impact Report for a new dam on Kimberling Creek in Bland
County. Oil Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasures
Plan (SPCC), Virginia Department of Corrections Sussex 1 and 2 Facilities. Prepared a SPCC Plan
and an Oil Discharge Contingency Plan (ODC) for the Sussex 1 and 2 Correctional
Facilities. The project included evaluation of all petroleum containing
above ground and underground storage tanks, analysis of potential impacts
from a catastrophic discharge from a tank, and preparation of recommendations
to minimize the likelihood of a spill and its impacts. |
