Corrections Corporation of America Site Feasibility Studies
For the past nine years, 3e has been assisting Corrections Corporation of America (CCA) on comprehensive environmental and engineering services for correctional facilities throughout the U.S. to satisfy requirements of the US Department of Justice (INS, FBOP, OFDT, and USMS) solicitations for the housing of federal inmates/detainees. Because of the controversial nature of the proposed correctional facilities, public involvement and environmental issues have been very significant and complex. 3e's work has included:
- EA/EIS NEPA Documents at 29 sites in 16 states for the FBOP, DHS, USMS, and ICE
- Section 106 coordination on National Register Historic Structures at four sites
- Impacts/Biological Assessments for endangered/threatened species (black-tailed gnatcatcher, Florida black snake, and the gopher tortoise)
- development on two brownfield sites with contaminated soils and groundwater from petroleum releases and a solid waste landfill
- training on siting of correctional facilities and NEPA compliance
- engineering design services for 5 $50-80 million dollar facilities
- wetlands delineation and Phase 1 Environmental site assessments at 46 sites in 21 states
