Example Projects

Fairfax County Parkway, Preliminary Engineering and Stream/Wetland Compensation Plan Development

3e was responsible for all environmental permitting, natural resource studies, stormwater permitting, as well as the remedial assessment and hazardous materials management plan. All work associated with the project was performed on an aggressive and complex fast track project design build project delivery schedule. 3e performed stream assessments and wetland delineations covering the 2.4 mile project corridor.

3e prepared the comprehensive Joint Permit Application and coordinated with the VDEQ for an Individual Water Protection Permit and the USACE for an Individual Permit (Section 404) to cover unavoidable stream and wetland impacts. 3e developed the overall stream and wetland compensatory mitigation plan for the project. The project involves a new bridge over Accotink Creek which also requires a Sub Aqueous Bed permit from the Virginia Marine Resources Commission, and four stream and floodplain crossings.

The project also had time of year restrictions due to the presence of anadromous fish in Accotink Creek. 3e provided environmental oversight of the construction for both permit compliance with the environmental permits and for hazardous materials management.
