3e Consulting Wins Urban Conservation Award
3e Consulting was honored to receive the Urban Conservation Award from the Hanover-Caroline Soil and Water Conservation District. The Hanover-Caroline Soil and Water Conservation District’s state-mandated mission is to develop local programs to conserve soil, water, and related natural resources.
Ian Frost, President, and Sharon Harless, CEO, accepted the award at the November 19, 2009 banquet. The award recognized 3e’s dedication to environmentally-friendly development, specifically our new Richmond-area office where we took up residence in May 2009.
The banquet program described 3e’s new office, which is set against the woods and situated alongside a coastal plain wetland that hosts a variety of native species and waterfowl, as follows: “Features of the 5,000 square foot building development include energy-star appliances, reclaimed hardwood doors and floors, recycled carpeting, low/dual flush toilets, and lots of natural lighting for each employee to enjoy. Outside features landscaping with native plants, vegetable gardens, bird feeders, and a patio for employee use." “Employees contributed their weekends to the landscaping and gardening, thus making it an educational opportunity. Such efforts to be ecologically aware and minimize environmental impact should be recognized and valued.”
